The Band Perry is set to perform the official NFL Tailgate Party prior to the Super Bowl this Sunday. While the Perrys are big football fans, Kimberly Perry admits she's especially excited to see Bruno Mars' halftime show this year. She says, "I think my favorite part of the Super Bowl would have to be the halftime show, because I’m always excited to see what kind of stage they’re gonna roll out on and what songs they’re gonna play. That’s always my favorite." Even though they'll watch the big game in person this year, Neil Perry still needs a TV to get the full Super Bowl experience. "I’m going to make sure we have a TV [during the game] so I can watch the commercials," he says. "They’re always the best, they’re so funny, and that’s what I’m looking forward to." Look for a portion of The Band Perry's pregame performance to air live on Fox Sunday afternoon.
All eyes will be on East Rutherford, NJ Sunday as the Denver Broncos take on the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl. Since Denver quarterback Peyton Manning has roots at the University of Tennessee, most country stars are rooting for the Broncos to take the Super Bowl trophy. Here's a roundup of Super Bowl predictions from some of country's hottest stars:
Luke Bryan got to know Peyton Manning when they appeared together at a recent charity event. He says, "I'd love to see Peyton get him one more ring." Luke knows Seattle is a "powerhouse" this year, so he's not going to be upset if they best the Broncos. "If Seattle wins, I’m gonna be like, 'Hey! Congrats!' because they’re just an awesome football team," Luke adds. Luke is most excited about having this Saturday off the road so he can get ready to enjoy Super Bowl Sunday. He says, "It's gonna be fun."
Tyler Farr is rooting for Peyton Manning and the Broncos because of Peyton's performance both on and off the field. Tyler tells ABC News Radio, "I just think Peyton is a heck of a guy, and kids these days don't get a lot of guys to look up to in the big industries like that, and he's one of 'em. I think they definitely can look up to him. He's just a good, all-around role model."
Joe Nichols expects the Big Game to be a close one since Denver's offense and Seattle's defense are the best in the league, respectively. "I heard it's the first time the #1 offense and #1 defense play each other in the Super Bowl in, like, 25 years," Joe says. "So, that's interesting. I think that's the way it should be." Joe will be fine with either team winning, but he'd love to see how they fare with the added element of snow on the field this Sunday. He explains, "I'm hoping for a lot of snow. I know the football players hate this, and anybody that actually goes to the game is gonna hate this, but I hope it's like a foot of snow on the ground. So, I hope that happens. It won't. [NFL Commissioner] Roger Goodell will probably pay off God for that." The Super Bowl airs this Sunday on FOX.
Whether you're watching the Super Bowl alone or hosting a big veiwing party, country stars have the tips to help you prepare for the big event. Sara Evans has an easy-to-make party snack that's always a big hit with her family. She tells ABC News Radio, "There is one essential for every football game, football game day that we watch. It's cheese dip. [My husband] Jay likes the Velveeta cheese dip with the ground beef and salsa mixed together. It's incredible." Jerrod Niemann has a few tips to make sure you don’t miss any of those hilarious Super Bowl commercials, too. He even has a solution for avoiding frequent trips to the bathroom during the big game. Jerrod explains, "Usually during the commercials that's when you go pee or get more beer. But I think since it's the Super Bowl, I'm just going to wear my Stadium Pal and then put the cooler by me on the couch." The Super Bowl airs Sunday on FOX.
